The building and its history

The New Inn is Grade II listed, listed on 5 February 1986. Historic England's listing dates the building to the late 18th century, with later alterations and extension.

The listing describes dressed limestone with painted quoins, a slate roof and two storeys, with 16-pane sash windows and keystones over the openings. A canted bay window fills what was originally the yard entrance, a reminder of its days as a coaching inn.
