Questions and answers
- Where is Bangers & Cash filmed?

- Can you visit where Bangers & Cash is filmed?
- Yes. The Thornton-le-Dale museum and shop are open every day; Mathewsons' pages give different hours by season, so ring 01751 474455. The Pickering saleroom is open only during the six-day viewing before each sale, £5 at the door.
- Can you watch a Bangers & Cash auction?
- No. The sale days are closed to the public and the trade. Bidding is online, by telephone or by commission.
- When is Bangers & Cash on?
- Thursdays at 8pm on U&Yesterday when a series is running, and on the U streaming service. Series 14 ended on 8 October 2026; Restoring Classics series 9 starts 15 October.
- Is Bangers & Cash real?
- The auctions are real sales with real hammer prices at a real auction house, filmed by Air TV for UKTV since April 2019. What you see is edited for television, as any programme is.
- Who makes Bangers & Cash?
- Air TV, a Yorkshire company, for UKTV's U&Yesterday channel. Toby Foster narrates.
- How many series are there?
- Fourteen of the main programme by October 2026, and eight of Restoring Classics with a ninth starting 15 October 2026. UKTV ordered four more of each in July 2025.
- Who are the Mathewsons?

- In 2011, according to the company's own history; the family business goes back to 1970 and moved to North Yorkshire in 1988.
- How much does Mathewsons charge buyers?
- Buyer's commission of 10 per cent plus VAT up to £2,000, 7.5 per cent plus VAT to £20,000, 5 per cent plus VAT above that, and 1 per cent more online, as published in October 2026.
- How much does it cost to sell a car at Mathewsons?
